Jumpin' Jellyfish

This last weekend we celebrated Maycee's 5th birthday. Her parents rented a jump-house castle and the kids had a ton of fun. Holli made an incredible castle cake that looked profesionally done, and Nate transformed a ghost pinata into a castle. Good times. Here are some pics.

Weekend fun....

I'm a little late posting my activities of the weekend, but better late than never. I had a low key weekend for the most part, but still a great one. On Friday, I went to Park City to shop. It was cold, but a lot of fun. Got some pretty good deals. Then on Saturday, I cleaned my house....which always makes me feel happy....and then went to teh U of U game with Hailey, April, her husband Rick, and some other family. We had a really good time, and I loved the fact that Hailey knew so much about football and didn't get frustrated with my questions. Now all I need to do if find a boyfriend with season tickets who is just as patient. Good Times!!

Slacker!

I have become such a slacker when it comes to updating this blog. I hate people like me. But I am making a commitment to do better. Starting now! So for an update, about two weeks ago, we took a family trip to St. George. We camped in the trailer at Sand Hollow, celebrated Mattie's birthday, did some water skiing, and then cheered Matt on for his 6th St. George marathon! What a guy! Here are a few pics of the weekend.

Go Me!

So this weekend, becuase I was pouting, I decided to go to a movie, in the theatre, all by myself. It was a matinee, so it wasn't as brave as if I had gone at night, but there were still a lot of people. I was feeling all confident while buying the ticket, even said "one for Love happens" without my voice cracking or a red face. Then I walk over to the snack bar and order a popcorn/drink combo, which I thought would give me a small popcorn, and a large drink. Not the case! The lady pulls out the mega popcorn and has it filled before I even realize it's mine. There is no way a family of four could finish this off, let alone me, who doesn't even really like the popcorn. But...to act like I knew what I was doing, I accept the "vat" of popcorn and proceed to the checkout. First, I stop off and get my drink. I chose the 32 oz. which I found out later was not the one for the combo, so my disgustingly large popcorn and 32 oz. coke, cost me $11.50. Good hell! That is twice the cost of the ticket. But I'm not going to cause a scene becuase I just wanted to go watch the movie. Overall, it was a very empowering experience, but I just have to laugh at what an adventure my life can be sometimes. And all becuase I don't pay attention.

Couple of things....

The first item of business...is that Esther, my beloved Honda Civic leaked oil on my new driveway! Not just once, but three little spots!! I love Esther, she is an excellent car, and drives thousands of miles in a month, and just keeps on going. She probably deserves to leak a little fluid here and there, afterall, she has 221 thousand miles on her engine. However, this being said, it didn't lessen the sting of oil spots on my nice new driveway. I've scrubbed them with a little oxy clean and coke, and they are a little lighter, but still there. I'm working through it, and I'm sure I'll be okay with it in a little while.

Second item...as many of you know, I have been working really hard at getting healhty. I've changed my eating habits, excercise on a regular basis and am working on getting unheatlhy levels down in regard to blood pressure and cholesterol. As part of this quest, I have been participating in a "fatty" program at work, who is helping with the expense of the gym as long as I lose one BMI point every two months(that's about 5-7 pounds). Now, things have been going well. My blood pressure is down, my pant size is down, and I feel great. I am slowly losing the weight, but overall, I feel quite sucessful. BUT...on Friday, I was informed that I had missed the requiremtn of weightloss by one pound!! One freaking pound!! I was devistated, humiliated, and just wanted to cry. My "waist coach", realizing how well I have done in the past, said that if I could weigh in that day, at the required weight, I could stay on the program. If not, I was off and they would no longer help finance the gym. Well, I'll spare you all the details...but an hour later, after lifting, the elyptical, the treadmill, drinking NO water, and peeing again, I was still about 5 ounces off! Now..at this point I'm sure you are thinking that I should have told those people where to go, but I really need their financing. So, I put that I was 5 ounces less, signed the form as the gym and sent it in. AND I DON'T EVEN FEEL BAD ABOUT IT! But needless to say, I will be upping my cardio and making sure that this does not happen again in two months.

What an adventure...my life.

Ain't she a beauty!

After several months of hard work and patience (on Nate's part..) my driveway has been poured! Bright and early Friday morning, Nate, Bryce, Stuart and three of Nate's coworkers showed up to help the process happen. Staci and I stood and supervised (which drove me nuts by the way). It took two truck loads of concrete, and a total of 4 1/2 hours. I was as excited as a kid on Christmas morning, and am so thankful for such great family and an amazing brother who stuck with it! I am so in love with it. We didn't get to finish the entryway, and sidewalk...but all in good time. Here are a few pics of the materpiece. I'll have to post one of it now that it has dried. (please ignore the neglected yard...next years project is a sprinkling system)

On Saturday, we headed out to "Lookout Pass" to celebrate the sucess of the driveway with some relaxation. The whole fam-damily was there present throughout the weekend except for the Pikes. We had a ton of fun four-wheeling, roasting smores, and watching movies. Luxury camping..I know. Here are some pics.

This weekend we headed out on the virgin camping trip to Jordanelle with Dad's new trailer. The whole family was there at one point or another, along with Holli's family. I love to camp, and had a really good time. The funny thing is...I didn't even get a good picture of the whole trailer. We had a lot of fun camping, but the weather didn't really cooperate with the us going out on the lake. A few of the little kids got out on the tube, but it was freezing! We played games, ate, and just hung out. It was a lot of fun. Dad's trailer was a hit, and we now have the bug to take it out a lot more! Here's to future camping trips in the lap of luxury!! Oh, I almost forgot. I got to pull the boat home, through Parley's canyon, and did a fine job I might add. I was pretty proud. Maybe not a big thing to those who have pulled a boat before, but it was the first time for me on the freeways and I feel it was a sucess! Go me!!
